GoDaddy Roundup: Launches, tentpole moments, and more

From cultural moments to product offerings—our mission is to Empower Entrepreneurs Everywhere.

Launching GoDaddy Studio:

Beautiful design made easy. A mobile-first tool that lets you easily create content that elevates your brand everywhere, from your website to social posts and advertising.

GoDaddy X TONL

Better representation through photography. We noticed after years and years of being in existence the free stock images we supply in our Website Builder were in need of being updated. So, we partnered with TONL, which seeks to transform the idea of stock photography by displaying images of diverse people and their stories around the world to add 500 more images that better represent today’s world.

Plus, our social posts on the initiative were among the best performing of the year.

Launching .gay

To celebrate the launch of .gay we partnered with six members of the LBGTQ+ community to launch six brand new microsites dedicated to, and celebrating the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. We then took these sites and turned them into a film to drive awareness – with 20% of all the profits going to LGBTQ+ nonprofits.

The Results: This was a victory for me. I found a way ahead with no budget and internal indecision as I believed this was an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed and spoke to our brand values – and I was rewarded. Proving that when you speak to a specific audience in a genuine way your message can resonate more than trying to talk to everyone.

  • In testing the creative with an already-performant target audience, we saw a much higher than average ROAS of 5.07 resulting in more media spend put behind the campaign.
  • On social, all .GAY posts performed significantly higher than average compared to all creative posts for the year.

So, the next year we did an OOH and social 1st campaign to show our .support and .love

One Second Websites

With today’s image recognition technology, you can simply scan and in one second we can create a website from that thing you scanned. Scan a business card and we can recognize your fonts, colors, and logo. Scan a product to sell and we can recognize your color palette and suggest a template that fits your business. Just like that.

SMBs vs the Tech Giants

During the congress hearing between Facebook, Google and Amazon, we decided to show up and show our support for the little guy.
